The Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager for our Research and Development Laboratory. Our laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, providing industry-leading testing and research in masonry and hardscape materials. This is a unique opportunity to lead a nationally recognized technical laboratory dedicated to advancing innovation and excellence in the manufactured concrete products industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finances, operations, and staff of CMHA’s Research and Development Laboratory.
- Oversee testing services, research proposals, and contract negotiations to effectively serve client needs.
- Advance the laboratory’s technical expertise, reputation, and capabilities through staff development, facility improvements, and new equipment.
- Serve as Quality Manager, ensuring compliance with the Quality System Manual and maintaining high standards of laboratory safety and training.
- Develop and implement research programs, publish results, and communicate findings to clients, industry stakeholders, and association members.
- Represent CMHA in industry forums, building codes, and standards organizations while proactively shaping positions that benefit the masonry and hardscape industry.
- Educate members and the industry through technical articles, papers, seminars, and presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Five or more years of progressive laboratory management and testing experience.
- Strong leadership skills with proven success in supervising staff and managing complex projects.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute programs independently while fostering collaboration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
