A Word from Our Chair

There is something powerful about bringing our industry together in one place and it was on full display at CMHA’s Midyear Meeting. The energy in the room, and the genuine enthusiasm for sharing ideas and working together, made it clear that we have a lot to celebrate and even more to look forward to.

CMHA’s advocacy influence continues to grow, and we are making meaningful investments in technical leadership, resilience and sustainability. From advancing housing affordability, infrastructure and workforce development to supporting concrete masonry and permeable pavement initiatives, CMHA is helping create new opportunities for our members and the broader industry.

We are also strengthening the tools and standards that help our members compete. Our collaboration with MIT is advancing carbon sequestration and life cycle modeling for concrete products, while work on next-generation Product Category Rules will improve how environmental impacts are measured. CMHA also continues to influence codes and standards related to noncombustible construction, seismic and high-wind resilience, permeable pavements and sustainability.

Investing in our people remains equally important. New online training for plant managers and production personnel is well underway, and we are building a strategic framework to leverage the Hardscape North America brand to better connect hardscape contractors to industry education, resources and initiatives. We were also proud to welcome Steve Doty, Jeff Speck and Rick Roach into the CMHA Hall of Fame.

The progress and collaboration on display at Midyear reflect the energy building across our industry. I encourage every member to stay involved, use the resources available through CMHA and help us turn this momentum into even greater opportunity. Working together, we can ensure our industry continues to grow, innovate and lead.
