The Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA) announced the launch of MSV Fundamentals: A Foundational Course for Code Officials, Design, Sales and Installation Professionals, a new on-demand training course designed to help contractors and construction professionals build core knowledge of MSV systems. This course is a great introduction to new professionals entering the industry.
“With the growing use of MSV products on jobsites, it’s more important than ever to ensure installers and sales professionals are properly trained — not only on the product itself, but on correct installation methods to guarantee performance, reliability and long-term success,” said Erin Hobson, Vice President of Education and Events at CMHA. “This concise yet comprehensive course delivers exactly that.”
The self-paced, on-demand, two-hour course introduces MSV materials, terminology, surface preparation, and basic installation practices that support performance and durability on residential and commercial projects. Through five concise modules, participants gain practical insight into common challenges and key details that impact successful installations.
The five modules specifically cover:
- MSV Materials, terminology and applications
- Core system components and material requirements
- Proper surface preparation
- Standard installation methods
- Key details, precautions and challenges affecting performance
The course, instructed by MSV industry expert Jeff Tew, is ideal for contractors, installers, designers, and sales and installation professionals seeking foundational MSV knowledge. No prior experience is required, and participants receive a certificate of completion after all five modules.
The course is $99 for CMHA members and $199 for non-members. Learn more and enroll.
