The Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA) has officially kicked off its 2025 Midyear Meeting in Naples, FL. The meeting brings together a diverse group of industry leaders, professionals, and innovators for valuable collaboration, networkin,g and strategic discussions. Throughout the week, attendees will get the chance to participate in lively discussions and help advance the industry.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Committee Meetings: Attendees were able to participate in some key discussions shaping the future of the industry and exploring innovative solutions. The NCMA Foundation funded $411,182 in proposals. The ICPI Foundation Program Committee funded a $39,115 proposal. An exciting program this approval made possible is the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot that aims to centralize and facilitate the retrieval of technical specifications, construction procedures, and industry standards for segmental concrete pavement. Several ongoing research projects were also reviewed, showcasing the foundations’ commitment to advancing industry knowledge.
- Hardscapes & Masonry Town Hall: We spent the last meeting of the day in the big ballroom with a big agenda to match. CMHA’s Vice Chair Starling Johnson kicked things off, followed by a welcome from CMHA Chair David Pitre. Then Kim Spahn delivered the Concrete Masonry Checkoff highlights and CMHA’s new marketing partner, CLUTCH, got to introduce themselves. Attendees learned all about Firescaping from Wayne Villaluna and Functional Recovery Research Investments from Joe Kerrigan. And believe it or not, we got through it all right on schedule for the networking reception!
- Social Events: First days are all about welcomes, so we had to host a special meet-up to welcome our first-time attendees and new members. Then to wrap up an amazing first day, everyone gathered to enjoy an evening of networking, food, and drinks at our Member Networking Reception.
LOOKING AHEAD
And this is only day one. The excitement, education and energy will continue into the rest of the week. Tomorrow, we will gather for a member favorite, our Awards Luncheon, where we will recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in the hardscapes and masonry community.
We can’t wait to see all the impactful discussions, valuable networking and innovative ideas that take place throughout the 2025 CMHA Midyear Meeting here in Naples.
Stay tuned for more updates and event highlights throughout the week!
