Understanding the Shift to Portland Limestone Cement
The cement industry is rapidly transitioning from Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) to Portland Limestone Cement (PLC) to help reduce its carbon footprint and move toward carbon neutrality by 2050. PLC offers a smaller global warming potential while maintaining performance across concrete applications—including dry-cast products. As this change takes hold across North America, producers are encouraged to understand how PLC may affect product performance and quality.
